Induction Scheduled!!!!

And yes I am excited. I am scheduled to go to the hospital on Monday March 3rd at 5:30 am. Glenn has decided to stick around till then and not go back out to work. Although it is not in our favor that I will go into labor prior to this date I've convinced Glenn to stay out of the sky. I want him here and he admitted that he would feel awful IF I went into labor and he missed it. So we're playing it safe... which we all know means I will not go into labor on my own and it will be Pitocin city for me.
No changes, still 3 centimeters...

... is the baby here yet

NO! Not yet but I did see the doctor Tuesday and I am now 3 centimeters. If you know me at all, I am a bit freaked out. I know it is no biggie but since I was induced with Ryleigh I really have no experience with this whole going into labor at home thing. It's a bit scary because I don't know what labor feels like without Pitocin. From what I've been told the drug makes them more intense so I am wondering will I know what a contraction will even feel like???
Also the hubby has been out of town. He gets in tomorrow night!!!! We have another doc appt scheduled on Monday and we will make the final decision on whether Glenn will attempt more one more trip or we'll just keep him around (I already have my thoughts...but I am willing to see).
So that's the latest and greatest. Stay tuned!

I hate clutter

I've been on a rampage to organize trouble spots in our home recently. I have been working on the office (I've shredded 6 plastic bags worth of paper to give you an idea of my hoarding abilities). In general I keep a pretty clean home. Our office as always been our down fall (and basement). The paper I shredded was all filed (minus the junk mail I collect and shred every few months... that I keep in a paper bin).

UPDATE: I've removed the last portion of my cleaning entry. I did something I am not very proud of, I linked a blog entry to my own in an effort to point out my own character flaw (of being a neat freak). This fellow blogger was quite upset with me because she feels I was disrespecting her (which was not my intent). In an effort to smooth things out I have pulled the link.

Update time...

Nothing like re-discovering your Halloween costume when you're under the weather!

Alright I've been sick. I had about 2 days of feeling good and now I have a sore throat, ear hurts, achy body, and sinus thingy. Needless to say, I am sick of being sick. All that said life must move forward especially with baby sharp 2 coming soon.
I had my doc appt on Monday and here is the 411. I am 1 centimeter dilated, 80% effaced and -1. I know the -1 deals with where the baby is positioned but I couldn't remember if the negative number was the higher and positive was lower or vise versa. I tried looking it up in my "What to Expect When Expecting" and I couldn't find it. Anyway, they don't think I will make it to my March 11th due date. I am a bit nervous b/c I was induced with Ryleigh so I am a bit of a newbie at labor just happening at home, in the grocery store or wherever. Also they don't think it will take me 10 hours (like it did with Ryleigh). I could have told them that. If this kid doesn't slide right out I will be shocked.
Ryleigh had her last gymnastic class on Tuesday. We opted not to sign her up for a 2nd session. She liked it but with baby #2 coming and not being allowed to bring baby 2 to class to sit in a car carrier seat there is no point. I suspect I will be putting Ryleigh into a gymnastics class this summer. I just need to investigate options.
In other news, Ryleigh moved to her big girl bed last night. She fell asleep without a hitch but woke up at 4:00 am. Our suspicion is that she was hunger (she had not had a good dinner) or the newspaper delivery woke her up. Either way, I attempted my best to get her to go back down but gave up at 5 and handed the torch to Glenn. He took her downstairs, fed her and she fell back to sleep till I woke her at 8 am (on the couch with Glenn). I was just thankful he was here because I really was not feeling well and had not slept much last night.
Also we had our Moms Day Out program today and I was able to sign Ryleigh and Baby #2 up for next fall!!!! This is fantastic news for me. I will have a break once a week to attempt to get some things done. Ryleigh will also start preschool in January 2009 for a young three's in Worthington. She will be a busy camper but I think it will be good for her.
So that is it. I've posted some pics (because I haven't posted any in forever!!!).

Ryleigh paying attention to Coach Mike (notice she's the only one sitting and listening). It cracks me up. She was like this for all the classes.

Hanging out at gymnastics with dad

A pregnant shot of me.

Big girl bed (yes the furniture still isn't here). We're working with what we have. The mattress and box spring came yesterday afternoon.

Some amusing news

Okay, I have never mentioned this person before on my blog but this is just too good to keep to myself and rather than send an email out to the 1/2 dozen friends who know who I am talking about I thought I would just give the news here... in a more public forum!
Steve is getting married. You know who I am talking about... I was floored when I found out and had to read it twice. He told me in an email in a very Steve way, "I am off to FL for my annual trip. GF and mom will be working on the wedding plans. I got vetoed on destination". That is not a direct quote but basically what he said.
Now I know a few of you have questions about the email business. It's no biggie...been going on and off since OU screwed up and gave away everyone's social security numbers (computer glitch deal-o that seems to be happening to universities/business/govt./etc). Steve went there too but not at the same time as moi (he's dad actually retired from one of the branch campuses). Anyway, we've kept in touch since on and off. And no I have NOT seen him. And YES Glenn knows and has no issue with it. Here's to hoping they are very happy. I truly feel that way. Still in awe the guy is getting married. I never would have thunk it!

To Hell & Back

I will make this short (I hope)....
I got Ryleigh's stomach bug on Tuesday. It was the worse stomach virus I've had ever. It was worse than the one a couple of months ago. Both ends, non-stop for 12 hours. My mom had come over in the morning to help with Ryleigh because she got sick again and I wanted to be able to shower. I was feeling pretty good. That all took a turn for the worse about noon. By 12:30 I had called Glenn to tell him to get his bottom home because I was going down a slippery slope. He complied with no complaints (thank goodness).
I stayed in my lair most of the day. My mom's plan was to leave at 3:30 but when she came knocking on my bedroom door I had to run and hurl. I think then, she realized I was down for the count and was incapable of taking care of Ryleigh. I've never experienced such gut wrenching pain on a constant level. I never slept in between bouts of sickness because I was in so much pain. Glenn made it home by 8 pm and my mom went back home. Poor gal, never thought she was going to be here all day (and of course she got struck with the bug on Wednesday).
I am starting to recover. I am exhausted and spend most of the time sleeping but I am keeping things down. Today was my first official day of eating but it's been very small amounts. I am just weak. Ry seems to be on the mend and Glenn seems to be surviving. I am trying to accomplish some laundry and de-germ our our home in between naps. It will be a long process but I am hoping by Monday I am back on my feet (as well as my entire family).
So there you have it. A 9 month pregnant woman's nightmare...

Monday, February 4, 2008

Oh boy Oh boy... it's been fun. The rest of the day was lazy yesterday and I got her down before 9 pm. I got myself to bed early too (right after the Super Bowl - GO GIANTS!!!! - sorry Mer had to put that in).
About 12:30 am I heard Ryleigh crying. I went in.... and was hit with the smell and her coughing. I realized she got sick so I grabbed her to throw her over the toilet. I got her cleaned up and changed and into my bed while I assessed the situation in her crib. OH MY that was gross and we're down a feather pillow (unless someone has thoughts on how I can get that clean).
The cleanup took some time (Glenn left yesterday morning so no reinforcements). Before it was complete she started again... nothing got on my bed (the very important thing!). I cleaned her up and then slipped her into her crib after she calmed down. Then we had one small dry heave. Got that taken care of, her relaxed again and back in the crib. All was done by 2:45. Afterward I laid and prayed. I prayed that the smell of strawberry yogurt wouldn't make me sick, the Ry wouldn't get sick again so I could get some sleep... you know selfish things that God would surely respond to ASAP. I would like to report he did. Ryleigh slept through the night and I didn't get sick and actually slept till 7:30!
Made a doc appointment for all of those wondering. Won't be till this afternoon during her nap (yup, get to get her up). I stretched the truth to get her in... I said she was poking her ears so I was concerned about an ear infection (which she has done a little but I am not all that worried about it). Girls got to do what a girls got to do though. Whatever little bug Ry has she is having a hard time fighting it. I am a very pregnant woman who needs some reassurance since the DH is out of town (big shock!). Hopefully it's nothing much. My mom is on her way this morning to help me. At least I can shower and attempt to clean some more. Okay rambling...

Rant #1056

Okay, I haven't had that many rants on this blog but it feels like it at times. The latest and greatest... Ryleigh's sleeping (or lack there of). Glenn and I went out to dinner last night, had a nice time (wife's name is Carly - see entry below). Went to bed just before midnight. I woke up at 1 am to pee (love pregnancy) and woke up again at 2:20 am to Ryleigh SCREAMING!!!
She's been doing this lately so I just bring her to bed with me and go back to sleep. Well, not last night. Needless to say she and I were downstairs at about 4:30 am watching a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse video. I feel asleep at some point and so did she. I woke up at 7:30 and traded with Glenn (I needed to sleep in a bed). I hope tonight isn't the same. I can't take her getting up anymore. I am expecting this from the new one in 4 weeks but not now.

UPDATE (posted 9:13 am Sunday): I was awake from 2:20 am till 5 am.

It's been a week

I just realized that I haven't posted a thing in a week so I thought I should. If for nothing else to update you on the 'stake-out'. There has been no activity since the stake-out so I suspect my thought of being a paranoid pregnant lady are true. At least it added some interest to my life for that day...

I went to the doctor's on Monday. I start my internal exams on February 11th and I chatted with the doc about inducing me early. Glenn's last day of work is March 1st so rather than try to wait it out we are hoping to have baby some time the first week of March. The doc said he would as long as there are no medical reasons to prevent it from happening. I am sooooo ready to get this baby out. I know I shouldn't be anxious but it has been difficult running after a 2 year old and having this bulging belly. I am having a heck of a time just going up and down stairs. The baby is sitting really high and is smashing my lungs so I get winded very easy. Fun fun!!!

The only other news is that I had my paint team (my mom and Glenn) repaint Ryleigh's room. After the initial paint color went up I wasn't thrilled with it. It was too goldy yellow for my taste. I felt it made the room look small. So on Wednesday I chatted with them both and they agreed to repaint it. They painted yesterday and I really am pleased. It is much lighter and I think cheerier. We are ordering her mattress/box spring tonight before we meet some folks for dinner.

Yup, I have a date night! It will be probably the last one before we have baby so it better count for something! We're off to Buca di Beppo with 5 other folks. Now, the kicker, I don't know any of them! One of the guys Glenn flies with invited us. It's his wife's birthday. Sad thing, we don't even know her name! I feel really bad because I want to get her a card but I don't even know how to address it. I don't think I should put, Hey What's Your Name on the front... although that would give insight to my personality if I did. So wish me luck. I sometimes go silent when meeting new folks so here's hoping I won't be too uncomfortable and can try to enjoy an evening of food.
