Change of plans...

Okay so I noticed today when I went to pump (I am starting to build up a supply for the wedding) that I had a difficult time. There wasn't much there. I suspect that my dieting jump start was too extreme and I am not taking in enough calories....so I am going to forgo South Beach and try to just watch the sweets. If you're nursing and decide to diet I found some guidelines you should follow here.
So I am off to go have a yummy dinner! I will still post about weight lose...just need to go a bit slower with it than I would like...

Time to drop the weight

Well the time has finally come (and the motivation is in place) for me to put some focus on losing the 'baby' weight and get back into shape. I have been working on a very limited wardrobe and I really don't want to expand it in the size I currently am wearing.
My motivation comes in the form of a wedding. I don't currently own anything that I can fit into to wear to this wedding. I really don't want to buy something specific for this event that I could potentially only wear once (due to weight lose). SOOOO I am hoping I can lose enough pounds to fit into a few options I have... I am not sure if it will happen but if it doesn't it won't be from lack of trying.
Also, another blogger, Jessey, is starting on her weight lose journey. Her chat about wanting to lose the baby weight (she JUST had a baby) really made me realize that I can't see around eating sugary substances and nurse and expect it to fall off. Plus that crazy Pirate's Booty...

I am no stranger to weight lose. I was hefty in my mid-twenties and did Weight Watchers with 2 of my co-workers. It was a fantastic experience and I plan to incorporate it into this journey of weight lose. Also, after I had Ryleigh I was told by my family doctor that I was pre-diabetic and should do South Beach (which I did with great success). My plan to jump start the weight lose is to do South Beach. I feel that in order for me to be successful in the long run I will need to incorporate WW. I probably will join them after the wedding. Something about the accountability really motivates me! So till then I will be using this blog to give me the accountability factor. My first weigh in was this morning to give me my base #. I will be posting my weight lose next Wednesday.

Here's to happy dieting!

I love this picture

What is that smell?

It's Lake Okeechobee on fire . We were down in Florida over the holiday weekend and boy did it smell like campfire. The winds have been coming from the west and my first morning in Port St. Lucie I was awoken to the smell of fire! I though the wing of our hotel was on fire. My eyes burned it was so bad. Other than the that our trip went well.
It was a quick trip and we had a good time. Ryleigh spent time in the hotel pool each day. We also found a nice park for her to run around every morning to get out some energy. Our niece, Katie, graduated high school while we were there so we were able to attend her hs grad party! It was at a pool and Ryleigh had a good time with her cousins.
Evan was good as gold! He slept through every night but one and he was great on his first plane trip. On our return we were able to have a seat for him. It was so nice. I would have held him for 3.5 hours had we not had the seat. It was a lifesaver.

Her first trike

She's been riding tricyles for awhile at friends houses and at her grandparents. This, however, is her first ride on her very own tricycle! She loves it and her pink helmet.

The joys of weight gain

I weighed my buddha baby and he is 15 lbs. That just seems insane to me. I can't wrap my head around it.

Dear Makers of Pirate's Booty,

I am addicted to your product. I am not sure what you put into Pirate's Booty but I found myself on my computer today, rolling through blogs, munching away on a bag of Pirate's Booty and before I knew it, the bag was gone. Nothing in the bottom. It was empty. Now I know I shouldn't feel HORRIBLE for eating a whole bag because heck it's sold in health food sections of stores so it just must be good for me. So the fact that I ate 4 servings (that's what's in one whole bag) shouldn't be all that awful. However when I was done I WANTED MORE!!! So I am now putting myself on Pirate's Booty restriction. No more! I am done! Finished!
I hope that was the last bag in my cupboard...

About '2 month' post

Okay, if you got time you can see what the past 2 months have been like since we've had Evan (view the video below). The picture above is on his actual 2 month birthday (yesterday). He's wearing a 3-6 month outfit and is about to bust out of it like the incredible hulk. He's crazy big! He's a good boy and last week he gave me a glimmer of hope... he slept through the night. From 10 pm to 4 am one night then the next night he went from 10 pm to 7 am (CRAZY). It felt good to have those stretches. Then we shot the whole thing and went to the pediatrician for his 2 month check up (4 shots and oral rotavirus vaccine). It screwed him all up and he is back to hibernating like a bear during the day. I can't blame him...it did seem pretty awful. Anyway, we're chugging along. He is smiling and follows me with his eyes. It's nice and now we're getting to the baby stages I like (did I ever mention I am not a fan of the newborn, although as far as newborns go, Evan was pretty sweet). So watch the video when you have a few minutes to kill... I actually post video from the hospital (nothing gross - I am so not like that and wouldn't allow that to be taped - although I did allow a student to view my birth because I had my epidural and was so focused on not throwing up I could have had a whole amphitheater of folks watching and would have never noticed). Anyway, enjoy!
